BREEN is providing Architectural, Structural & MEP design, permitting and construction administration for fire damage repairs and historic building rehabilitation at 3343-3351 W. 43rd Place in Leimert Park, Los Angeles. The building which opened for retail use in 1933 adjacent to the Leimert Theater, is an Art Deco jewel designed by noted architects Morgan, Walls & Clements. It is a contributor to the Leimert Park Historic District and will comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
A serious fire damaged and scorched the building throughout causing areas of the roof to collapse, damage to existing skylights, destroyed interior wood framing, burned finishes, and damaged windows and storefronts along the two main street frontages.
