A media room, custom steam room, and multi-zone sound system complete this exceptional multimillion-dollar property. Located in Los Angeles, K2LA is a three-building, work-live-play urban development project. The three buildings consist of a combined 478 units of luxury multifamily apartments with amenities such as fitness centers, business centers, rooftop spas and outdoor decks with grilling areas. My phone rang one morning last October with a fuzzy call from a management company in London: an international retailer needed a California architect. It became clear enough through the static to understand that a UK-based perfume company was working on their American rollout. It sounded like it could be fun, with high-end details and a fast schedule. A few days later I was uber-ing to a meeting in the lobby of a boutique hotel in Beverly Hills, just around the corner from their in-construction store on Rodeo Drive.
