Child Development Center

This project is located on a 6-acre site in the Canyon Crest Housing area of the University of California Riverside and was completed in the summer of 2009.  It consists of a new Child Development Center and adjacent 50-car parking lot.  

In addition to specifying normal onsite utilities, it was necessary to document the extension of more than 1000 feet of Campus water main, for fire and domestic water service to the site.  Storm water management was accomplished by distributing all runoff from the site to adjacent unpaved areas for treatment and infiltration.  Grading and accessibility of the interior courtyard areas were a special challenge, due to the presence of state-of-the-art play equipment for the children, and the need to keep built-in, perimeter outdoor play tables and counters accessible.
