Japanese Garden Phase I
The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens
Civil Engineering work began in June 2010 for Design-Build improvements to the existing Japanese Garden at The Huntington Library. An amazing team of architects with backgrounds in historic renovation, plus horticulturists, landscape architects, engineers, and Japanese craftsmen came together to undertake a large-scale restoration project of the historic core of the garden.
This project, completed in 2012, includes improvements to the original lower garden, a new ADA pathway, new upper garden, pond, stream and tea house
to celebrate the garden’s 100th year.
